When Milliseconds Define Compliance
In financial services, a delayed transaction is a questioned transaction. We asked: what if compliance checking could run faster than the transaction itself?
Working alongside a regional bank managing high-frequency payment flows across six markets, we built a real-time compliance engine that screens every transaction against live regulatory rule sets in under 50 milliseconds. The system ingests jurisdiction-specific data, applies institution-defined thresholds, and flags anomalies before funds clear — not after.
This was not a matter of tuning an existing vendor tool. We designed the architecture from scratch around a single constraint: compliance at the speed of commerce. Every decision — from data pipeline design to alert triage logic — was made with that constraint as the governing principle.
Today, the platform processes over three million transactions daily with no production downtime since launch. More importantly, it gave the bank's compliance team a system they could explain to regulators, operate with confidence, and extend as requirements evolve.
